What does PPF offer that other foundries don’t?
We hope that you will see many reasons to work with PPF as you browse through our site. We believe the biggest advantage PPF offers is that we are a one-stop casting resource, fully invested in the future. PPF offers customers:

  • All processes under one roof for better process control, visual management and ultimately, superior customer service
  • In-house tool shop with PPF as its only customer – You get your tooling built faster and your castings produced sooner
  • Processes automated with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Ability to do cast-in components (steel inserts)
  • In-house heat treatment – Saves days of processing time
  • In-house spectrograph – We verify alloy chemistry in every furnace every 2 hrs

What is the difference between a “production shop” and a “job shop”?
PPF is both. That’s what being a “full production” foundry means. Our permanent mold foundry is what’s considered a “production” shop while our greensand foundry is more of a “job” shop.

If you have an ongoing need for a large volume of the same casting (or for more than one casting) – we’re here to satisfy your need.

If you want a one-up prototype only, that’s not PPF’s niche. We create patterns on-site for our own use, to be used in our own foundry.

Are there any applications that PPF does not handle?
PPF does not work in metals other than aluminum alloys. We do not cast in iron, for example.
